Tim is the November Athlete of the Month. Tim enjoys the sport to its fullest and he can quote "Anchorman" and "Talledega Nights" on demand. He enjoys the training as much as the competition and his mind is at ease in the middle of a 20 mile run in the 90 degree heat. I feel sorry for anyone that is determined to out "kick" Tim at the end of a race.
Matthew was recently nominated by the "KCM Athlete of the month nomination committee" (KCMAOTMNC for short). Matthew just returned from Panama City, Florida where he completed his second Ironman triathlon. Matthew's blood flows crimson and blue as he ran cross-country for the University of Kansas in the 90s. He enjoys coaching the KCM track workouts on Tuesday evenings during the summer months. (for certain, his workouts will get your blood pumping). Matthew is always willing to share his time a knowledge of the sport with others and he never complains when a certain riding partner gets lost, I mean "temporarily off course." 
Tim is the September athlete of the month. He has a long history of participating in endurance sports and this past summer, he finished his first Ironman (Louisville) well under 11 hours. There is no doubt he will keep himself busy during the winter months pursuing many of his athletic interests. Congrats Tim.
Amy is the August Athlete of the month. She recently joined the KC Multisport club but she has been participating in triathlon for over ten years. Like most of us she started with the shorter "sprint" races and the past few years has experimented with longer distances. She completed her first half-ironman this year and she has ambitions for two more next year. It is also a little known secret that she has served three terms on the Lenexa city council. Congrats Amy.
Carly Farrell is the July Athlete of the month (yes I realize it's almost November, I have been a little lazy this summer... but I will catch up). Carly was a nationally recognized collegiate swimmer at LSU during her college years. She still holds a place among the top 10 fastest swimmers in the 100-backstroke. She is eager to help others find their form and gain confidence in the water. Carly has inspired many other women to participate in triathlon for the first time and learn to share her enjoyment of the sport. Thank you Carly! | Saturday Ride Info | ||
