The KC Multisport Athlete of the Month for September, Lisa Fowler, just became a first time Ironman on August 29th. After a difficult spring that entailed a broken leg and only two months of full triathlon training, Lisa was able to achieve her goal of crossing the finish line at Ironman Lousiville. She truly showed her ability to endure and overcome challenges. Congratulations Lisa - You are an IRONMAN!!!

KCM Time Trial Series

TimeTrial Pic Mark your calendars for the next five months (May – Sept) for the KCM time trial Series! The event is open to all KCM members of all ages and levels of fitness at no charge. The time trial courses generally precede a local triathlon to help you prepare for the race. Dates and locations are subject to change. 2010 Fall Performance Program

Join Kansas City’s Triathlon Coach, Ken Welsh and Fit Pit Coach, Sheryl Hammontree plus other local endurance athletes for a weekly, two-part session focused on strength and cardio. Tuesdays beginning September 21st thru December 7th, 2010: from 6:30 pm to 8 pm.

At the NEW Fit Pit facility, conveniently located at Northwest corner of I-35 & Shawnee Mission Parkway: The Fit Pit, 6238 Merriam Drive, Merriam, KS 66203

Unless you did The Performance Program in 2009, this will be unlike anything you have done before or are able to do on your own. You will work hard, learn a lot and have a ton of fun.

Open Water Swim

What: Open Water Swims
Where: Shawnee Mission Park and Kill Creek Park
When: 6:00pm - 7:30pm
           Tuesdays & Thursday @ Shawnee Mission Park
           (June 1st - August 6th)
           Mondays @ Kill Creek Park
           (June 7th - September 7th)
How Much: $4 per visit or $2 with KCM Swim Card
(Cards can be obtained from Glenn Bohannon at the swimming beach at Shawnee Mission Park on the 1st wk of the swim)
