In 2010 the 30th Annual Topeka Tinman will reclaim its’ shine

Join Sherpa Sports & Ultramax on June 19th at Lake Shawnee as they bring this historic event to a level not seen in recent years.  The Tinman will feature both a Long Course & Short Course triathlon along with a Duathlon.

“We are honored and thrilled to be producing the Tinman in 2010.  It has long been a favorite race on the calendar for athletes and we are excited to surpass their expectations.   We jumped at the chance to work with the Shawnee County Parks and Recreation and are thrilled to be able to use Lake Shawnee for the 30th annual Tinman,” said Co-Race Director Ryan Robinson and owner of Sherpa Sports.  Ryan is also the Race Director of the popular K-Swiss Ironman 70.3 Kansas & the upcoming K-Swiss Ironman 70.3 Branson in Branson, Missouri.

The Short Course will consist of a 500 meter swim, 12 mile bike and 3.1 mile run.

The Topeka TInman is one of the longest running triathlons in the United States.  In 2010, the Tinman will become part of the Ultramax Championship Series.   The Ultramax Championship Series launched in 2004 and is a competition comprised of Ultramax owned races and a select few other races  in the Midwest.   Participants are awarded points at each Ultramax Series Race and are ranked in a similar fashion as the USAT rankings.  Winners are eligible for season ending prizes.  “What an honor it is to be a caretaker to one of Americas’ longest running events.  We are eager to give athletes what they have been wanting and to celebrate the Tinman’s 30th Anniversary in special fashion!  We look forward to a safe, challenging and fun race for all!” said Co-Race Director Mark Livesay and owner of Ultramax Events.  Mark is also the Race Director for dozens of events across the United States including the 2010 USAT HalfMax Championships being held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
